Meet me?

I do understand families wanting to meet me or our dogs before placing a deposit which is why we hold open days and we sometimes arrange walks / meets ups throughout the year depending on how busy we are.  We receive many of these requests every week. Our girls live fantastic lives in guardian homes and come to us to have their puppies so are not here for you to visit them.  All of our health testing is also online for you to view.

We believe in transparency which is why we use a live 24/7 camera, so you can actually see for yourselves how our puppies are raised and therefore can be confident you made the right choice choosing me as your breeder.  You will get to see and experience the joy of watching your puppy grow and thrive.  I know families think this is a reasonable request but  the reality is we just don't have the time to cater to individual families, our time is spent caring for our puppies and family time.  Every visitor is a risk to our puppies so we do not allow visitors unless we are holding an event.

Here is a selection of video's showing how our puppies are raised at Ripley's.

Early Neurological Stimulation

Breeding high quality, good temperament dogs takes experience and a passion for what you do.  We treat every litter as important and pride ourselves in producing wonderful family pets many of which go on to be service dogs. Having over ten years experience in breeding has allowed me to develop my Ripley's Australian Labradoodle line, I know all my dogs health testing, genetics and temperament which is why we are regarded as one of the top breeders in the UK and one of the first breeding Australian Labradoodles.

Weaning & Socialisation

At Ripley’s, we raise each litter as individuals. Every litter is different, so our weaning and socialisation process is always guided by the puppies’ confidence, development and temperament.

During the first couple of weeks, our main focus is making sure mum is calm, comfortable and well supported. The puppies are weighed regulary, which naturally begins the process of gentle handling, but at this stage the priority is a quiet, settled environment.

Once the puppies’ eyes begin to open, we start to interact with them a little more. They are gently handled, introduced to soft toys and, when ready, exposed to low-level household sounds. Weaning begins gradually and at the puppies’ pace. Larger litters may begin this process slightly earlier, while others may take a little longer.

As the puppies grow, their space is increased and they are introduced to different toys, textures and areas. They begin to learn that people are safe and enjoyable, and we gently build their confidence through everyday handling, nail clipping, sound exposure and short experiences away from their usual sleeping area. They are also encouraged to toilet away from their sleeping space, which helps them develop good early habits.

We do not allow outside visitors while the puppies are very young. Until around six weeks old, socialisation is mainly with ourselves and, where relevant, their guardian family. This helps protect the litter while still giving them plenty of positive human interaction.

From around six weeks onwards, socialisation increases. The puppies are introduced to more people, outdoor play areas, different surfaces, natural enrichment, car travel and normal household life. We continue to observe each puppy closely so we can support the quieter puppies while also giving the more confident puppies suitable enrichment.

Before puppy selection day, we carry out temperament observations and testing. This helps us guide families towards the puppy who is the best fit for their home, lifestyle and experience.

By the time our puppies leave us, they have had a thoughtful, age-appropriate start. They will still need continued training, socialisation and confidence-building in their new homes, but we aim to give them the best foundation possible.

 Australian Labradoodle Meet Ups

As dedicated Australian Labradoodle breeders some of our best times are seeing Australian Labradoodles meet up and play. We spend so much time raising our puppies, but we only have them for a short time, seeing them fully grown and happy is wonderful for us.  We are very privileged that we have such good relationships with our customers that many attend our meet ups and by doing so we get to see our babies all grown up.  We have teamed up with Shannon from Willows Australian Labradoodles and created a local Facebook group for meet up’s.
