The Breed

Australian Labradoodles originated in Australia in the 1980's for the intention of creating an allergy and asthma friendly dog with the temperament of a service dog. The following breeds are the parent breeds; Labrador, Poodle, English Cocker Spaniel, American Cocker Spaniel and Irish Water Spaniel.

Doodles that are identified as F1, F1b, F2, Double Doodle, Merles, Wheaten Terrier, Cobberdog, Cockapoo or have these in their pedigree are not pure bred Australian Labradoodles and cannot be identified as such.
